People always talk about the winning mentality. And of course they’re right, to win you have to think you’ll win.
Therefore it will be no surprise to learn that the Foundation takes mental development very seriously. Our winning minds programme has two initiatives.
Working in partnership with The Scottish rugby Union we have developed a mental skills training programme. The ultimate aim is to reach all young rugby players and ensure their physical toughness is equally matched by their mental toughness.
Secondly we have formed a partnership with a games-based learning company and the creator of “winning theory” a teaching manual for the mind, to develop “The Winning Game.”
This cognitive thinking computer game helps users develop winning behaviour. The built-in “coach” assesses performance then offers the player specifically calibrated coaching and advice, both in-game and after the game, to improve results.
The Winning Game gives the player the opportunity to develop their vocational and decision making skills.
The Foundation’s goal is that every pupil in Scotland will have access to it. That’s one computer game no parent will mind seeing his or her child playing with.
